Spring Card Camp / Days 4, 5 & 6

Day 4: Make a Statement with Sentiments

Card 1
Having issues with adobe photo shop so had to edit on phone,
and this is all I could get to show of card. I guess due to it being a tall card ?

Card 2

Day 5: Stencil Shading
Instead of inking up with one color in we were to "color" and shade with ink
*I am amazed at all the ways a stencil can be used* I tend to use an item just for what it was intended lol Looks like that will be changing ;)

Card 1

Card 2

Day 6 : Creative Color Blocking
*I never knew it had a name lol* But after looking it up on Pinterest ,
I see it is used in a lot of ways.

Card 1
I used a HA background stamp on three colors of cardstock. Then heat embossed with white and cut strips up for cards. I still have leftovers for a few more cards.

Card 2

Hope you all have a wonderful crafty day!!

Day 3: Dry Embossing with Stencils

Embossed on white CS then inked up with blender brush
and TH distress oxide ink
No photo description available.

Hard to see in photo as cs is dark but rows of hearts stencil was

Spring Card Camp 2 / Day 1

Our first card was to be made using a large letter. I cut an E out using my brother scan and cut to use as a mask. Then we were to ink and fill either part way or totally with stamping.

Our second card was to be made using reverse masking. I have created a one layer card. (shocked I know lol) I used a circle die to create my masked off area then a large stamp from Gina K

Spring Card Camp / Day 20

Today is the last day of Spring Card Camp 1........... yup they have announced there will be a Spring Card Camp 2 and it will start May 6th. Doing the happy dance here!!!

OK today Ashlea showed a ton of cards with some awesome tricks and products.
I only tried two but will be sure to go back to this lesson and try the rest.

I tried the solid stamps that I have and never use, (know why now!) But as you can see I can not get a nice solid inking. I have tried a lot of different inks and they still come out splotchy. Guess that is why they stay tucked away lol.

Ashlea used an awesome background stamp with lots of open space.
So in keeping with the "use what you have" of the class,I dug out an old Maya Road stamp and created my own! I did use the trick to create your own matching paper for sentiment backing. I used the same purple ink and inked up a white area and die cut out the circle for behind my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring Card Camp / Day 19

Sounds easy and fast ,right? Nope not if you are a heavy handed stamper like me. All my ink came off on the first stamping with nothing leftover for the second. So after a bit of mumble grumble time and few attempts it cam out like Jennifer showed us.

The one on the left is the first stamping and the one on the left is the second which is so soft and pretty!! Honestly I like it better then the first stamping.
I stamped the background with versa mark onto kraft, and added some nuvo drops (which are not quite dry but needed to get this posted! lol)

There is only one day left in our Camp, but there is talk of having another one to keep us busy for our stay at home time. Crossing fingers they do!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by :)

Spring Card Camp / Day 18

In keeping with the "two for one" of the class, we used a strip of paper to mask off a section before inking. Then used the strips used as a mask to make our second card.

Card 1: inking done on this panel

Card 2: made with the strips used to mask

I didn't have any pattern paper that went with my inked panels,
so I used the Dainty Dots background stamp from Jillian Vance.
Light bulb is stamped on vellum

Thanks for stopping by!
Sad there are only two more days in this class.
But they are talking of having a Part 2, I sure hope so :)

Spring Card Camp / Day 17

Lots of great tips and tricks in todays class :)
And of course more inking!! But I am starting to enjoy getting inky ;)

I don't have one word die so I took letters from Concord&9th Tall Type Alphabet Die set and taped them together for the cutting. Of course this is a "Two for Class" so nothing goes to waste. The letters were stacked and colored with gold copic marker then covered with glassy accents (which was not totally dry!) Julie also showed us how she makes a shape to ink with, I took a heart punch to make mine. You just ink one then move the stencil for the next one.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look :)

Spring Card Camp/ Day 16

She’s got an Impressionistic coloring technique that you don’t need an art degree to pull off!

Well Kathy make some awesome cards, but me........ well lets just say I am not an fan of impression art and find it very hard to be "messy" lol But I did finish the lesson and am posting my card fronts instead of trashing them right away ;)

So this is step 1, heavy coloring and "messy"

Card on the right is the flip side of the one above, and that is what you
would use for a card front.
Then for the "two for one" you use the paper you had under the one
you colored. So the bleed threw becomes a background.

Looking forward to seeing what lesson we have for day 17!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Spring Card Camp / Day 15

Well at first I was not to excited about how my "smooshing" turned out, but as Jennifer McGuire says......... "just keep going and it will turn out" so that is what I did and I must say I like my cards.

Card 1: first smooshing

I added wink of stella glitter on the stars but it doesn't show up in photo

Card 2: second smooshing using left over ink from first card.
I like how the "leftover" made a blotcher pattern.

Thanks for stopping by Julie :)
*giving you the personal touch* lol

Spring Card Camp / Day 14

Laura gave us lots of little tricks that I will be sure use in cards to come!

First card uses the die cuts. I used a light silver for the bottom of letters,
think it could have been a bit darker........ next time ;)

Card 2 uses the negative space
Card 3: was some fun inking and stenciling but I haven't made it yet lol

So glad you stopped by!!

Spring Card Camp / Day 13

One die = two cards ;)

Card 1: I made the rainbow section for under cut out, but as I was putting it together I noticed I forgot to save the sections to go in the letters.
At that time I was not digging them out of the trash! so it is what it is ;)
* I also left out the glitter Cathy called for on the inked section,
I will be getting glitter out of craft room for years to come! lol

Card 2: I made a rainbow as we were shown how in day 11 and layered three diecuts together for the hello, then cut the shadow from the die set out in vellum. I did use my Nuvo Glitter Gloss on rainbow to give  a bit of sparkle
