jingle belles 2012 has started!!!

just when you thought it was safe to put away
all the Christmas crafty goodies (lol)
a new year of getting your cards made early and
without the December crunch has begun on jingle belles!!

Make a holiday card that incorporates GIFT WRAP:
as a background, as an accent, or using motifs cut from your favorite wrapping paper
Make a holiday card with an image of present(s) on it!

seeing how we have 2 weeks for each challenge this year i decided to make 2 cards, hope i can keep this up for the entire year so my Christmas card stash will continue to pile up :)

well we don't have much wrapping paper as i tend to use bags, but i did find two kinds that worked out well for the cards.

for this one i cut out the precious image from wrapping paper several times and used pop dots to make it 3D. the sentiment is also cut form the wrapping paper.

ms boarder punch and paper
oval nesties
swiss dots embossing folder
misc: gold pearls
used this sketch from Hero Arts
(not linking it up as i didn't use their stamps)
i liked the sketch when i saw it on Amy's blog so used it anyways! lol

the second card is made using some of the beautiful foil wrapping paper that the HEART program used to wrap a gift for hubby in. couldn't get a good photo with the glare it reflects from the light!!
it is purple and silver and i am sure glad i saved it from the trash ;)
i also used this paper to make a thank you card for him to give the HEART ladies for the wonderful gift they gave him. forgot to take a pic before he took it to work for them.

i "wrapped" a piece of cardstock with the wrapping paper,
so does that count as"wrapped gifts"? lol
su cardstock,
silver metallic paper,
silver embossing powder,
ms punches,
bg button
not sure of the maker of the stamps, think it is inkadinkado but not sure.

i have used this weeks sketch from 365 Cards :)

I can't even believe you cut out that image once, let alone more than once! My poor eyes! It turned out fantastic! And you are 2 cards down for 2012!!!

Great cards - and that's my plan, too: make two cards for every Jingle Belles challenge...

Two very different, but very pretty cards. I would have a hard time picking a favorite - they're both wonderfully done.
